acapella, rock, soul, rhythm & blues: The Edlos do the 60s - Far Out! Take a far out ride through the 60s and early 70s with the Edlos. There are some very clever adaptations of songs we have never heard arranged a cappella before such as Jethro Tull's "Aqualung", Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit", Led Zeplin's "Stairway to Heaven" (all 6 minutes of it) and - would you believe - "Tequila", trumpets and all? There are also a couple of a cappella standards done with a twist such as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (they call it "Wimoweh"). "Hurdy Gurdy Man" is sung employing a vocal technique explored in the Baroque period called "hocket" according to the liner notes. It's a very interesting choice because it almost sounds like an exaggerated version of Donovan's own style. There are not a lot of slick production techniques or effects used on this CD, but there are very creative a cappella arrangements of some pop classics.

acapella, rock, soul, rhythm & blues: The Edlos are one the best-known groups in contemporary a cappella. Drawing on material from their previous three CDs, this Sampler is your basic Edlos 101, with a couple of new songs for extra credit: "Garbage Man" and "Mrs. Claus." This California group is known for their humor, and there is plenty of that, but there is plenty of substance as well: their solid education in the fundamentals of a cappella singing and the styles of barbershop and doo wop have endeared them to fans for many years past, and for many years to come!

acapella, christmas: WinterSongs is an eclectic mix of new arrangements of holiday favorites and unusual surprises by this award winning quartet. Featured are the Edlos' original "Ascending Star of Bethlehem" and a parody of Louis Jordan's "I Want You to be My Baby" as I want you to... "Gimme Some Presents". Also unforgetable are "The Night Before Christmas" (The Visit) done to the tune of "Big Bad John"(!) and the moving hebrew prayer for peace, "Sim Shalom".

The Edlos were visiting Nashville where they were tapped to play the Grand Old Opry. The wildly enthusiastic response they found was the root inspiration for a collection of country tunes. There is a sweet lilting poignancy found in heartstring tuggers like "For Ever and Ever, Amen," "Goodbye To White Deer" and "High Hill." Traditional tunes are present in "Your Cheatin' Heart" and "Faded Love." "Castin' My Lasso" is a vehicle for great yodeling, cowboys old and new, mine disasters, wired truck drivers...
