new orleans, zydeco, cajun: Stompin' at the Bal De Maison evolved from a story from Louisiana of house parties where so many folks showed up to dance, the floor broke and they spent Sunday repairing it. This CD is that party, coming at you with relentless grooves designed to keep you stompin' in your own house or nearest dance hall, with new originals, classic Cajun, hard core Zydeco, New Orleans R&B, blues ballads and a French waltz. Gator Beat not only covers the State of Louisiana, they infuse their own feel, call it Rock, call it Pop, call it Gator Beat Stompin' with 3 lead singers: soul crooner Willard Blackwell, David Scott, giving it some rough and ready, and Susie Davis, singer/songwriter extraordinaire, adding her sometimes gutsy, sometimes sweet, but always rich and powerful. Horn section, fiddle, & button box, added to the regular line up of drums, bass, guitar, accordion, sax, rubboard, piano, and penny whistle with carefully crafted harmonies.

new orleans, zydeco, cajun: Gator Beat decided to have some fun. They wrote three songs, including the title track, "Let's Dance". Gator Beat fans will immediately recognize the sound which distinguishes this band from all the others. It's got that good time vibe throughout and the players keep the energy going, driven by Beau Bradbury's "on top of his game" drumming. David Scott, longtime GB sax man, hits his stride and blows the lid off Clifton Chenier's "Ride 'Em Cowboy". Willard Blackwell digs deep and comes up with his best vocals to date, crooning on GB original "Just An Angel" and delivering a knockout punch on Jon Cleary's "C'mon Second Line". The band is running on all cylinders on USS Zydecoldsmobile with guitar man Randy Quan in the driver's seat. It closes out with Randy's original cut which is not only beautiful and groovy, it has Gator Beat written all over it. Cutting a new CD takes what is already there and bumps it up a notch. This time, it was a big bump.

new orleans, zydeco, cajun: 1st Globe release by the West Coast's premier Zydeco/Cajun band, original and traditional music. Leader and accordionist Richard Domingue, from South Louisiana, is affluent in Cajun and French and keeps the band focused on both authentic and original zydeco and cajun music, with a touch of New Orleans funk. This is not another copy band: they have their own unique sound, which is interesting even by Louisiana standards. Last year they played the Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge, the premier Zydeco/Cajun Festival in Louisiana, which is unheard of for a California band. They can play a sit-down show or street dance with equally high impact. They have set sales records in several big festivals including the Sacramento Jazz Festival, Mammoth Lakes Jazz Festvial, San Juan Jazz Festival, and Victoria Jazz Festival. They play at least 40 festivals a year, and work the club circuit from the West Coast to The Crescent City. They have an ever growing fan base that includes a strong core of Cajun-dancers just about everywhere they perform.
