'Cabo' CD cover

By Tommy Rox and the Mur Man (Murray Orrick)

Buenos Dias Mis Amigos!- A recording of hot sand and warm smiles, CABO sweeps you away to the land of the sun. All of this album's 10 original songs are brimming with acoustic textures, rich vocal harmonies and melodies that roll lazily around in your mind providing a retreat for the soul in need of some time to play.

The title cut celebrates Cabo San Lucas, the jewel of Baja, painting a scene of salty breezes and vibrant colors where time goes by slowly. Other tunes compliment this balmy vision like 'the Vacation Song' whose melody carries you away from the "hustlin', bustlin' struggle of the day to day.

CABO's arrangements feature a sparkling acoustic mix of guitars, mandolins, harmonica (courtesy of guest artist Norton Buffalo), and waves of bright vocal harmonies. The occasional addition of drums and tropical percussion complete a perfect backdrop for the smiling lead vocals characteristic of Tommy Rox and Murray Orrick (the Mur Man).

Light-hearted humor, a necessary ingredient for a good time, is cleverly woven into songs such as "Happy Birthday Sooze' and 'Hawaiian Girl' (sweet as a papaya from a papapapapapapaya tree), while the amber halo of sunset can be felt in sweet ballads like "Sierra's Song'-a spiritual tribute to a friend- and "To the Heart of You"-an offering to a longed-for lover.

The album winds down with the breezy acoustic instrumental "Cabin Drive", gently carrying you back home with fond memories to the final "CABO Reprise'.

Tommy Rox and the Mur Man invite you to spend some time by the ocean, take a siesta in the white sand, and unwind in an atmosphere that makes it a joy to be alive.

Good Day from the land of the Sun my friends- .Welcome to CABO.
