The record's title, "Airn Beats Nairn," means any's better than none, but this collection does more than that, featuring solid backing by both a crack Arizona band (Bob Blazi, drums; John Rapp, guitar; and brother John Willis on bass) and a California line-up (Vince Littleton, drums; Takezo Takeda, guitar; Jerome Hammond, bass).
