ROCK: This is the classic 1972 album from "The Wizard" himself, Chris Wilson. The album is a combination of folk and psychedelic music, and is the culmination of many other studio efforts by Wilson from 1966-73. The bonus tracks were taken off four earlier studio efforts by The Wizard, all of which will be reissued by Gear Fab in the coming years.

ROCK: Long before he recorded his legendary 1972 LP "The Grey Wizard Am I" (GEA #202), Gandalf The Grey was hard at work at Dick Charles studios in N.Y.C. in 1968 on "The Tin Angel" sessions. Out of these demo efforts came another string of sessions known as "What's The Excuse." Basically, "What's The Excuse" was just a polishing up of four of "The Tin Angel" tracks plus additional material. Never before released, both these albums now constitute Gear Fab's second Gandalf release. More troubadour psyche from the Wiz!

ROCK: (2 CD-set for the price of one) In the 1980's, Absolute Grey was part of an indie rock sound that included R.E.M., Rain Parade, Let's Active and Dream Syndicate - all of whom were fans of Absolute Grey's electric folk rock. Led by vocalist Beth Brown, the band recalled early Jefferson Airplane and Fairport Convention mixed with the modern psychedelic guitar sounds of Echo & The Bunnymen. Never before on CD, their 1984 debut LP "Greenhouse" has now been remastered and expanded to a 2-CD set with a 17 track bonus disc of unreleased 1984 live material. Absolute Grey were long time favorites of Forced Exposure magazine and the 24 page booklet includes liner notes by Byron Coley and Jim DeRogatis. (Previously deleted:12/1/04. JAZZ: Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Hiromi, John McLaughlin, Branford Marsalis, Zakir Hussain, Mike Stern, Gary Husband, Simon Philips, Wayne Krantz and Steve Lukather may be among the greatest musicians ever known, but they all hold something else in common. At one time or another, these legendary artists have counted on the support of Tony Grey's melodic and propulsive bass. Artists of such stature, virtuosity and standards do not trust just anybody to hold down the foundations of their music. They seek out the best for live performances and recordings. Time and time again these artists turn to Tony Grey. Elevation marks the return of bassist and composer Tony Grey to the Abstract Logix Label after his sophomore release - Chasing Shadows. Brilliantly crafted, this very musical outing features a new and never released composition from John McLaughlin, originally written for his friend Chick Corea. Chick's Chums is a great funky tune featuring McLaughlin himself on the guitar, along with percussionist Mino Cinelu. Performing on various tracks of this spectacular album include acclaimed guitarists David Fiuczynski, Mike Stern, Reb Beach, Fabrizio Sotti, Nir Felder, and Tomoyasu Hotei.

FOLK/BLUEGRASS: Songs and Ballads, with Ed Trickett. One of the purest voices of the folksong revival and a graceful frailing banjo style that stresses the melody as few others do, Sara brings to the music she loves a profound understanding of the tradition it represents. Ed adds his inventive guitar accompaniments and baritone harmonies. A genuinely satisfying recording and still a favorite.

JAZZ: Tony Grey is part of a new fraternity of extraordinary young electric bass guitar virtuosos who have taken the vocabulary of pioneers like Jaco Pastorius and Stanley Clarke to the next level. Surrounding himself with a stellar cast of improvisers and fellow virtuosos, including drummers Ronald Bruner Jr and Chris Dave, harmonica ace Gregoire Maret, guitarist Lionel Loueke, bass trumpeter and trombonist Elliot Mason, current collaborator and former Berklee classmate Oli Rockberger, Holdsworthian guitarist Tim Miller and pianist Hiromi Uehra, Grey acquits himself as a remarkably fluent player with a strong melodic penchant. From start to finish, Grey delivers with authority, taste and inspiration on his fully realized sophomore outing.
