Hollywood maverick Gary "Alley-Oop" Paxton tried his hand at all sorts of genres back in the early-mid 1960s. His girl group recordings rank with some of his best, thanks to his tremendous stable of writers. Most of these recordings are presented here for the first time from recently archived master tapes. The trio is known for its classic oldie "Bread And Butter" and also for the spectacular falsetto of lead singer Larry Henley -- but the group charted several other singles in the U.S.A. and around the world. There was much more to them than that blockbuster hit, as these packages will show. This CD spans 1964 and 1965 and contains the first two of the Newbeats' three Hickory albums, plus two bonus cuts that were not originally on any album, and features four U.S. Top 40 Singles in all. Many of the tracks are making their CD debut.
