COUNTRY & WESTERN: Tommy Irvin's music is a mix of Texas Americana, country, blues, rockabilly, swing and folk. Heavily influenced in the Old School by Johnny Horton, Cash, Paycheck, Hank Williams, Hank Snow, Jim Reeves, Hank Thompson, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Little Jimmy Dickens, Buck Jones, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Faron Young and Roger Miller. Most songs are originals. Tommy wrote his first song by age 8. He has recorded more than 200 songs, written over 400 and close to 100 have been published by various companies. Tommy's first single "That's What Highways Are For" made the top 40 on the Texas Music Chart in 2003. Tommy has performed in over 30 states in the Union and also performed in France, Germany and Mexico.

OLDIES: (2-CD set) Mississippi-born Donley released barely a dozen singles in a career that spanned not much more than five years, but almost every one of those singles contains at least one classic of rock'n'roll, R&B or - primarily - swamp pop. This extraordinary double CD set brings together nearly every recording that Jimmy made in the last two years of his life. All were either produced by or posthumously acquired by the Texas record producer Huey P Meaux, and all are presented here - some in stereo for the first time - from freshly made transfers of the original tapes, still stored in what was once Meaux's studios in Houston. The As and Bs of all of Jimmy's Tear Drop singles are here on Disc One, along with several demos that Meaux overdubbed and released after Donley's death. These singles include 'Think It Over', 'Please Mr Sandman', 'Loving Cajun Style', 'I'm To Blame' and other swamp pop standbys that can still be heard regularly in jukeboxes and on the radio throughout South Louisiana.Disc Two will be a treat for even the most ardent Donley completists - nearly 30 home demos, including songs that Donley never recorded commercially, revivals of Louisiana R&B classics by Cookie and the Cupcakes and Fats Domino and the original versions of several hits that Jimmy wrote for his friend and fan Fats. All tracks were written by Jimmy, with the majority of them being demos recorded for Hotlanta. SOUL: Superior Muscle Shoals-recorded Southern (and Northern) soul from a hero of fans of both genres, finally receiving its first ever UK release 30 years after it was recorded. Tommy Tate has never been prolific in his recorded output, but almost everything he's ever recorded is highly rated in Soul circles. This CD brings together everything that Tate recorded for Ko Ko records between 1971 and 1977, and adds three tracks that he cut for Stax just prior to the earliest of his Ko Ko sessions, as lead singer of the Nightingales. The only previous issue of the Ko Ko material on CD came more than 10 years ago, via a Japanese limited edition that sold out almost as soon as it was pressed. Demand for these tracks has increased considerably through that limited run, and the exposure that 'If You've Got To Love Somebody', in particular, has received via both the Northern and Modern Soul scenes. The word is already out among soul collectors that this project is imminent, and they are suitably excited about the prospect of buying a copy.
